The Lantern Restaurant, at The Ritz-Carlton at Bangalore, is a Chinese themed restaurant and is arguably one of the best fine dine Chinese restaurants in town, The Lantern is a lovely place to enjoy a relaxed and indulgent meal. The staff are extremely courteous and make you feel wonderfully special, befitting a five star dining experience.
The restaurant is spread over three floors, and after a bit of initial confusion, we were guided to the basement level. It has a lovely little outdoor seating area with a gentle waterfall, most pleasing to the senses.
The indoor seating is just as aesthetically done up giving a very royal and formal, yet comfortable feel. You are spoilt for choice with the variety in the menu, and there are ample options for vegetarians too. We were finding it hard to choose , from amazing array of dishes.
During this on going festival, I had the rare distinction, being served , excellent Chinese dishes, made specially by 3 Chinese chefs, specially flown in from China. Hence my pictorial journey of this restaurant will tell you all. India’s only Michelin star Chef Anupam Banerjee was there to supervise and was very interactive with the guests/ dinners. Service is really awesome. They have an elaborate wine choice.
Great food. Would love to come back.
