As there are so many restaurants all around Ahmedabad offering authentic Gujarati food but my instinct led me to AME GUJRATI. I was a bit skeptical about visiting Ame Gujarati.
When I entered in the compound of the place, I didn’t expected this place to be amazingly spacious. Very good & excellent ambience. There were various seating sections. Open or AC tents with clear full length glasses. Nice architecture of the place. You get the private place and you can enjoy the food without any noise as other restaurants have. True mixture of urban and rural. There was Guajarati dhol artistes playing local tunes, which were quite soothing and charging the whole atmosphere with positivity.
Unlike other Guajarati restaurants they offer 3 different type of thali with interesting names: ‘Vepari’, ‘Sheth’ or ‘Nagar Sheth’ thalis. I opted for ‘nagar sheth’ the one with maximum food items… in starter fried patara was crisp n hot ,served with one kokum and one mint cooler..so refreshing.. in main course fulwadi nu shaak and my favorite patudi were excellent.. plenty of choices in roti section they offered from fulka ,bhakhari ,thepla to bajri na rotla… we had sugarrush with sugary malpuda,gulab jamun and dryfruit basundi and others.
It was superb gujarati food and I highly recommend it.
