Old World Charm: Chandni Chowk

Chandni Chowk ke zayke
Today my inner self urged me to explore the old world charm of street food and special food of old Delhi’s famous food joints. The winding lanes and by lanes of old Delhi especially right from Fatehpuri masjid to the Lajpat Rai narket of Chandni chowk area, they boosts of various street food items, which are unheard in the other parts of Delhi/ New Delhi.IMG-20150424-WA0007
First of all , we went to famous “Paranthe wali gali” where world famous , is dishing out various stuffed paranthas. You name the stuffing and (Menu attached) they have it. Although IMG-20150424-WA0006the paranthas are fried but one can indulge in , ignoring health advisories etc.
Secondly, we went to Natraj Dahi Bhalla Corner, across the road, from Paranthe wali Gali. They serve out of this world Dahi Bhallas, papri chat and IMG-20150424-WA0012 
Aloo Tikki.The Dahi bhallas are mixed with thick dahi along with hand picked and mixed masalas and mint and sweet chutneys. The golden fried Aloo Tikki is also very tasty.
Third stop is Jaleba Wala, serving hot crispy big jalebis since very very time. The Jalebis are just perfect and your search for right jaleby ends here. They IMG-20150424-WA0017 IMG-20150424-WA0019also serve samosas but go in for Jalebis only.
 
fourth stop, towards the entrance of Lajpat Rai market, one of the most innovative samosa ever made , called Japani Samosas. This Japani Samosa is multi layered puff pastry mixed with aloos and fried. They serve this japani samosa with chana and pickle (photo attached)
